As our essential industry keeps the power on at every voltage level, electrical contractors can be proud of their work from the last year and look forward to an even better year to come.
NECA members played a valuable role in turning the lights back on all over the South after the summer’s violent storms. In addition to the high-voltage outside work, we can expect growth and change in our industry, as we learned from July’s Profile of the Electrical Contractor that work in higher-tech and more value-added areas, such as lighting, industrial systems and controls and electric vehicle charging installations, is expanding.
I don’t need to tell you that the last few years have been chaotic. In these times, it’s hard to predict the future, but our people know how to keep their heads held high. According to the Profile results, confidence in the industry is on the rise again. To keep your company moving forward to more success, take advantage of the benefits NECA offers. NECA’s chapter executives and national staff are always working to deliver the education and business resources that members require to complete their own National Electrical Code-compliant projects at the highest level possible. The publications—including this magazine, entering Volume 88—provide important tools and are accessible everywhere, including at ecmag.com and ecmagdigital.com.
My family and I wish you a happy, healthy, successful new year. I look forward to meeting you and catching up at NECA events around the country in 2023.
