ABB’s 7-in. Ty-Rap cable tie is designed to withstand the demands of space flight and resist corrosion and radiation in extreme environments. NASA used it to fasten the Perseverance Rover’s interior and exterior conduit and components and to secure research and lab equipment. Perseverance landed on Mars on Feb. 18.

HellermannTyton’s IT18R9C2 cable tie features an identification plate that allows bundles to be easily marked and identified. Plates can be marked manually with a permanent marker or with a preprinted adhesive label. It can secure wire and cable harnesses.

It has a 200-lb. tensile strength and features a specially designed head and trigger to allow for repeated use in temporary bundling applications.

ABB’s Ty-Rap cable tie features a stainless steel locking device. It is designed with a smooth, notchless body that reduces the number of stress points, while ribs and stipples grip the bundle and prevent slipping.

HellermannTyton’s blind hole mount cable ties come preassembled with metal locking mechanism secured to a nylon body. The metal component flexes to allow insertion. It is available in several models, including one with an offset mount that can be removed without cutting the cable tie and an all-plastic models for use with threaded holes only. To remove, users can snip the cable tie and use a hex screw to remove the mount.
