In the dynamic world of electrical construction, being proactive about safety is a must. The inherent health and safety risks associated with construction work demand electrical contractors address jobsite safety issues head-on, along with the health and well-being of the workforce.
In 2019, the U.S. construction industry reported more than 200,100 cases of injuries and illnesses, resulting in 79,700 missed work days.1 The financial toll of these staggering statistics has heavily hit the industry, costing it around $11 billion a year.2
Beyond the financial implications, missed workdays disrupt project timelines, leading to potentially costly delays that pose considerable challenges to not only profitability, but productivity. Moreover, unsafe working conditions impact the industry’s ability to attract a younger workforce, which only exacerbates its struggles with an already high turnover rate of 20% and worker shortfall of 430,000 in 2021.3
- 20% of all workplace fatalities in the U.S. in 2019 occurred in construction
- 200,100 injuries and illnesses reported by U.S. construction companies in 2019
- 53% of large general contractors use software to manage safety inspection

Cutting-edge Nuron health and safety solutions
Safety is a priority in Nuron cordless tools. With over 80 tools—and more to come in 2024—the all-on-one platform offers many built-in features designed to help safeguard the construction workforce. Features ranging from Active Torque Control (ATC) and Active Vibration Reduction (AVR) technology to our OSHA 1926.1153 Table 1 compliant dust-control systems that combine tools and vacuum cleaners.
Minimize exposure to tool vibration
In the construction industry, workers often encounter unavoidable tool vibration when drilling, chiseling, breaking or grinding materials. However, Nuron’s Active Vibration Reduction (AVR) technology helps enable the operator to manage and minimize power tool vibration, so they can work more comfortably and productively.
Mitigate wrist injuries and safety hazards caused by tool kickback
Active Torque Control (ATC) helps reduce tool kickback that can be caused by a disc that is bound in material by stopping the tool body from spinning uncontrollably.
Immediate tool shut-off when operator’s hand is removed
With Nuron, Hilti developed two new technologies, SensTech and 3D ATC, for increased safety with angle grinders. SensTech introduces touch-activated controls that surpass conventional features like side switches and paddle switches. With SensTech, the tool shuts off if an operator’s hand is released from the grip.
Kickback control for added safety
The same risk-reducing function comes with 3D ATC. The system’s kickback control adds another layer of safety, shutting the tool off to reduce risk of injury when it binds or spins abruptly out of its work zone in any direction.
Helping to minimize dust exposure
Hilti’s Dust Removal Systems (DRS) are compatible with all Nuron tools. These Dust Removal Systems are committed to helping reduce dust exposure and increasing your efficiency on the jobsite.
Avoid dropped tools while working at heights
Most Nuron cordless tools are tether ready and rigorously tested to the latest safety standards.
Achieve greater safety and productivity
Work-related injuries and health issues not only take a toll on your teams, but on team morale, work output and bottom lines. With Nuron’s high-performing tools and technology, electrical contractors are more empowered to work faster, smarter and safer. In addition to built-in safety, you can get more work per charge and experience greater productivity and reduced downtime, helping ensure project schedules are met and you’re getting the most out of your labor hours.
In an industry where time is money, equipping your workforce with safer tools can allow them to achieve greater safety and productivity, helping to result in a win-win situation for your crew, your projects and your business.
