Every three years, the National Electrical Code is updated to reflect the newest installation practices utilized by the electrical industry, bringing about hundreds of changes to the code.

To review those changes, ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR and the National Electrical Contractors Association present "2017 NEC Significant Changes in Review," a two-part webinar series examining some of the most significant changes in the Code.

These one-hour webinars were broadcast on Nov. 8, 2016, and Dec. 1, 2016. We combined both webinars into one video, which you can now view below.

Johnston said the webinar is important because the NEC is the adopted set of installation rules that electrical contractors must meet when performing installations of equipment and systems. Attendees will gain valuable information related to new NEC articles, expanded AFCI and GFCI rules, and additional changes associated with evolving technologies, such as energy storage systems and DC micro-grids. 

The webinar is a must for those seeking a high-level review of NEC revisions that apply directly to their current business operations, especially if working in jurisdictions that have adopted the 2017 NEC, Johnston added. 

This webinar provides attendees with information presented during the full session on NEC changes is being presented in Boston at the 2016 NECA Convention on October 2016.
