Electrical contractors are builders of the modern world. From powering homes, hospitals, schools and data centers to enabling the technologies that drive our economy, electrical contractors stand at the forefront of progress. Every day, they solve complex challenges, embrace emerging technologies and deliver the infrastructure that communities depend on.
This year holds special significance for NECA. The association proudly celebrates 125 years of service to the electrical industry. Since its founding in Buffalo, N.Y., in 1901, generations of electrical contractors have advanced our profession through innovation, craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to safety and excellence. As we honor this milestone, we also recognize that our industry’s greatest achievements are still ahead of us.
Growth in advanced manufacturing, energy systems, transportation electrification, data centers and grid modernization is creating new possibilities for contractors of every size. As we reach the midpoint of the year, our outlook remains optimistic because the need for skilled electrical contractors has never been greater.
Technology is transforming the way projects are estimated, designed, managed and delivered. Whether it is artificial intelligence, prefabrication, digital project management platforms or advanced field tools, innovation is no longer reserved for the largest firms. Contractors of every size are finding practical ways to improve productivity, strengthen safety and deliver greater value to their customers. The ability to scale innovation to fit any business has become one of our industry’s greatest strengths.
As we celebrate NECA’s 125th anniversary, we are also looking ahead to one of the most exciting events of the year: the NECA Convention and Trade Show, taking place this October in Las Vegas. Registration is now open, and I encourage contractors, industry partners, trade enthusiasts and emerging leaders alike to join us. The convention offers an unmatched opportunity to experience the latest technologies, learn from industry experts, build valuable relationships and help shape the future of electrical construction.
For 125 years, NECA has been guided by a simple mission: to advance the electrical contracting industry and support the professionals who make modern life possible. That mission remains as relevant today as it was in 1901. Together, we will continue building stronger businesses, stronger communities and a stronger industry for generations to come.
