Sights From the NECA Show Floor, Day One

On the first day of NECA 2018 Philadelphia, the EC mag staff decided to check out some of the areas on the show floor where attendees can hear firsthand about the latest technologies, services and practices that can lead to a successful business. It isn't just about being high-tech; it's also about staying healthy.

Product Presentation Theater

Elliott Shem-Tov of FLIR

Above, Elliott Shem-Tov discusses Flir’s infrared guided measurement (IGM) Technology at the Product Presentation Theater (Booth 1618). IGM technology enables safer work environments for electricians, keeping their distance from potentially dangerous areas.

“With these types of devices, you don’t have to touch [dangerous equipment],” Shem-Tov said in his presentation.

The Product Presentation Theater featured seven sessions on Sunday. There also will be seven on Monday, along with four more Tuesday morning.

Lighting and Controls Theater

Jeff Gibson of Beyond LED Lighting

Jeff Gibson of Beyond LED Lighting gives an 18-minute talk on introducing solar products to your existing customers.

The Lighting and Controls Theater (Booth 214) features three days of sessions from exhibitors on the latest lighting and controls technologies in the electrical construction industry.

NECA Health Zone

Chef Nick Poccia

Attendees line up for free samples of food created by Chef Nick Poccia while giving a presentation on healthy cooking at the NECA Health Zone (Booth 428). The Health Zone also features stations for attendees to get a massage and relax. Additional activities include stretching, ergonomics and chair yoga.

NECA Sports Zone

Attendees watch the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Tennessee Titans at the NECA Sports Zone (Booth 1047), a convention mainstay.
