It has precision-ground, hardened blades and a two-stage ratchet drive. The 1,000V multi-component handles meet or exceed ASTM, IEC and VDE specifications. Greenlee’s Gator ESR1000LX ratcheting cable cutter is designed for one-handed operation and can cut up to a 1,000 kcmil in copper and 1,250 kcmil in aluminum. Ridgid’s RC-40 manual cable cutter has curved, surface-grinded blades made of high-coated steel, and it uses a ratchet mechanism to make cuts. It has impact-resistant handles, a locking mechanism and an enclosed spring. A pawl release allows blades to be released any point during cutting.


Milwaukee Tool’s M18 Force Logic 3-in. underground cable cutter is exclusively paired with a wireless remote that allows linemen to initiate a cut from a safe distance using Bluetooth.
