Subscriber Research Panel FAQs
Subscriber Research Panel FAQs
The panel is open to subscribers to ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR magazine or to the newsletters. Panelists must reside in the United States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
We welcome electrical contractors from firms of all sizes (from one person shops through to giant nationwide or multi-national corporations), those who work on traditional power projects as well as those who specialize in low-voltage and security systems. We’d like to know you better whether you work on commercial, residential and/or non-building projects.

Once we confirm your subscription to ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR magazine or to a newsletter, we’ll send you a follow-up survey asking you to confirm that you’d like to join the panel (to opt-in) and about 10 short background questions. You’ll also have the opportunity to provide additional comments, including whether you have any unanswered questions about the panel. The link will show you how to find your subscriber number.
Recent topics have included:
- Use of the ecmag.com website and other industry online sources
- Types of non-building and institutional work performed in the past year
- The extent, if any, to which electrical contractors function as general contractors on their projects.
- Your experience with QR codes, including that you don't use them!
- Your firm's current or planned future involvement with electric vehicle charging equipment
- From time to time, manufacturers and advertisers will pose questions, acknowledging your important role in contracting. You may get an early peek at new products and the opportunity to provide feedback.
You’ll have the opportunity to say what else is on your mind: “Please feel free to share any additional comments”
All responses are reported in aggregate only. Your identity will not be linked to your answers without your express permission.
Current panel members have told us that they joined the panel in order to have a voice in the industry, to give back to the industry, to learn from others and also for the monthly chance to win one of three (3) $65 gift cards.
You will have at least two weeks and often a month or more to complete a survey. If you leave the survey before it is completed, you may return to where you left off when you open the link again.
If a survey is sent toward the end of the month but is completed in the following month, you will be entered in the sweepstakes of the month when the survey is completed.
