Productivity is a huge issue for the construction industry. While other industries have significantly improved productivity and efficiency, construction has remained mostly flat. The key is technology, and when it comes to construction work, there is a lot of potential for increasing efficiency and safety through the use of modern innovations.

Ferry Electric Co., Pittsburgh, Pa., is involved in a beta test for the RealWear HMT-1, which attaches to a standard hardhat. The device is a piece of wearable tech that enables workers to see BIM plans while they work, and it has other convenient features, such as a voice-activated flashlight.

Check out the video below about Ferry Electric's experience and its methodology on technology adoption.
