As we observe another Electrical Safety Month, I want to remind everyone to stay vigilant and aware on and off the job site. Make time this month to take an extra look at everything you do, and ensure that it is being done with the safety and well-being of yourself and others in mind. The most important thing is that everyone returns home to their families every night, and then arrives safely to their job the next morning.

We stress safety every day at the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), and we are proud to say—year in and year out—that our members are responsible for the safest and most innovative electrical construction work in the United States. We honor the safest companies in our membership every year with awards and special recognition, and we promote a constant atmosphere of not just compliance, but absolute safety in everything we do.

Of course, ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR magazine is key in spreading the word of safety throughout the industry, and this month marks another issue of SAFETY LEADER, which has quickly established itself as an essential publication in the world of safety. It is enclosed with this issue of the magazine, and I encourage you to give it a read.

Finally, as you are receiving this issue, we are just days away from the virtual NECA Safety Professionals Conference on May 25–26. On top of that, if you are reading this and you are not a NECA member, we are more than happy to welcome you to this industry-wide event. We believe safety is not a secret, and for that reason we decided to open the doors of this conference to all who are passionate about this very important topic.

Thank you all for keeping safety top of mind in everything you do.
