The InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA) held their PowerTest electrical maintenance and safety conference from Feb. 24 through Feb. 28 in Chicago. NETA accredits third-party electrical testing firms and certifies electrical testing technicians.

The conference included technical presentations, a trade show, a new products forum and an industry-specific symposium enabling. Throughout the week, attendees strengthened relationships, shared knowledge and traded practical examples with others in the field.

More than 40 technical seminars were offered this year, covering topics such as transformers, relays, electrical safety, reliability and equipment. At the new product forum, the latest products and services were showcased while attendees learned about new industry challenges and solutions. The emerging technologies solutions was an event for those interested in learning where the industry is going. At the trade show, attendees interacted with manufacturers and suppliers about products and services.

Keynote speaker David Sarkus, a certified safety professional, spoke about seven principles that helped organizations create sustainable safety improvements. He covered a set of global standards that everyone can use to improve safety attitudes and ideas. Sarkus’ goal was to show others how to create accident-free work environments.
