Hello everyone, and happy new year. My name is Kirk Davis, and I am excited to be starting my term this month as the 36th president of the National Electrical Contractors Association.
I want to begin by thanking Larry Beltramo for his many years of service to our association, and for leading us through the last two years as president of NECA. Larry, along with the rest of the outgoing Executive Committee members, did an amazing job of guiding our association and our industry through one of the most challenging times in its history.
Now as I begin my term, I plan to hit the ground running and listen to the issues facing contractors across the industry. I intend to travel the country and meet with our districts, chapters and contractors across every region. I want to hear firsthand how the challenges of a contractor in Oregon are different from a contractor in Texas, or in Maine. I am fortunate that our family company, Bob Davis Electric, is in the position where I can take on these responsibilities and embrace the duties of the NECA presidency.
Most importantly, I want to thank my wife, Becky, and my entire family for their support throughout my career. Without it, I would not be where I am today. I also want to thank everyone in NECA District 3, who allowed me the privilege of serving as their vice president for the past four years.
Above all, I am a people person. I want to hear from people and listen to them to better understand their concerns and hear their suggestions to improve our industry and NECA overall. That is my first order of business as NECA president, and I will use these conversations to inform how I serve and help NECA best position all of its contractors for success—regardless of size, region or the types of work they perform.
Each and every one of you is a crucial part of our success as an industry. I am honored to serve as your president, and I cannot wait to see what comes next.
