Business development has become a hot topic in the electrical contracting industry, but there’s a lingering question as to exactly what it is. For ECs, it’s more about how to deliver services and technologies than discovering new ones.
In February, ELECTRI International—The Foundation for Electrical Construction Inc. released “The Blueprint for Electrical Contracting Firm Business Development,” which investigates the idea that business development is about employing innovative techniques of business or production process services. The study presents ideas for creating and implementing a business development strategy.
According to ELECTRI, this study is intended for smaller ECs, which account for the majority of firms in the industry; however, the ideas presented within the study apply to ECs of all sizes.
