While our Thanksgiving celebrations may look a bit different this year, I’d like to take a few moments to reflect on this year for all of us involved with the National Electrical Contractors Association. I want to acknowledge that it has been an incredibly tough year for everyone, and it has meant a great deal of suffering and sacrifice for many. At NECA, we have been proud in how we have faced the setbacks this year and turned them into opportunities.

In addition to producing two industry-leading magazines, our dedicated and knowledgeable staff has developed a top-notch remote education program, a comprehensive library of COVID-19 resources designed for electrical contractors, and—as we saw in October—an exciting and informative virtual NECA convention in NECA 2020 LIVE. This kind of innovation and positive attitude has made this year as NECA President all the more rewarding.

Our industry partners and sponsors have made it possible to make these tools available to all, and to amplify our position in the industry. For the first time it was feasible (and even convenient) for people across the globe to join us at our convention and trade show.

Saving the best for last, our members have shown incredible resilience in the face of so much uncertainty. NECA contractors have continued delivering power to families and businesses across the country, maintained safety as a priority for our workers and our communities, and kept pace with a steady stream of new guidance and regulations.

Together, we have faced and overcome a great deal this year, and this is the time to reflect on it all and appreciate all we have accomplished. Thank you to all our members and dedicated partners who have made so much possible.
