Electrical work may be a discipline unto itself, but electrical construction is a multidisciplinary business. Electrical contractors must master business operations, sales and contract negotiations as well as their trade.
ConsensusDocs publishes a catalog of 100-plus documents intended to help contractors secure fair contracts. The catalog has received massive support from more than 40 industry associations, including the National Electrical Contractors Association and the Associated General Contractors of America.
It is a paid service, but the benefits of membership continue to evolve.
At www.consensusdocs.org/support, the organization offers free monthly webinars to help facilitate contract negotiations.
To go with its education and support focus, ConsensusDocs also announced a new free service, which would enable use of its documents for educational purposes as well as for assistance in finding speakers for events.
Recently, the organization completed a major upgrade to its electronic platform. One of these changes included a favorites function that enables users to further streamline their work processes.
