When I look past our time at NECA 2025 Chicago, I find myself reflecting not only on the excitement of another world-class convention and trade show, but also on the personal significance this event holds for me. It’s my final convention as NECA President and, as my second term concludes at the end of this year, I’m filled with gratitude, pride and anticipation for all that’s ahead.

It’s impossible not to marvel at the journey that brought me here from my first NECA convention in 1979 in San Francisco, just as I was wrapping up my apprenticeship and beginning my career as a journeyman wireman. I still remember the sense of possibility and the power of community that filled that space. Decades later, that feeling hasn’t faded; it’s only grown stronger.

NECA conventions have always represented the best of who we are as an industry: committed professionals, forward-thinkers, problem-solvers and innovators. Year after year, I’ve witnessed how these gatherings create space for collaboration, learning and progress. They connect the past to the future and empower each of us to lead the electrical construction industry with confidence and purpose.

With every new year, NECA continues to push the envelope and deliver an even better convention experience, and NECA 2025 Chicago is no different. From cutting-edge education and technology showcases to powerful conversations around labor, innovation, safety and workforce development, this convention is a reflection of how far we’ve come and where we’re headed next. Of course, the connections made here between contractors, apprentices, industry stakeholders and NECA personnel are what really drive our success.

As I prepare to pass the torch, I have the deepest pride in how NECA has evolved over the last five years. NECA will continue to revolutionize the electrical trade and will continue to propel its members toward success. We are stronger, smarter and more united than ever. That’s a testament to our dedication, our leadership and our belief in this great industry.

I look forward to seeing many of you in the events and years to come following NECA 2025 Chicago. And I look forward to remaining a dedicated advocate of our industry and this association’s work. Thank you for allowing me the honor of serving as your president.
