When electrical contractors held the first NECA Convention in 1901, they joined leaders from St. Louis, Detroit, Cleveland and Buffalo to set the industry standard.

Today, our relationships stretch across the country. There are more opportunities than ever to unite, share new ideas and discover best practices. These origins reflect the criticality of our organization, and they are why I always take great pleasure in attending the NECA Convention and Trade Show year after year.

NECA 2022 Austin is the premier event for electrical construction featuring industry-leading education and networking. Taking place October 15–18, the convention gathers visionaries from all over the country to produce fundamental relationships between educators, manufacturers, solution providers and electrical contractors of all sizes. Plus, this is the first year NECA has brought the show to the Live Music Capital. We are excited to savor Austin’s famous Texas barbecue and acclaimed entertainment scene as we enjoy the city.

I look forward to seeing new products that help contractors operate efficiently and smoothly. Hundreds of manufacturers and service providers will be on the industry’s top trade show floor. Every vendor and solution provider is eager to make new connections and give you a front seat for the latest and greatest to take your operations to the next level. Then, for a quick break from walking, there’s the trade show education featuring contractor solutions, industry-specific leadership and technology workshops.

One thing to remember, though: time flies by so fast at the NECA Convention, it’ll wrap up before you can even check your watch. Take in every connection you make, each person at a time. Focus on and absorb everything our renowned keynote speakers share. And live in the moment like there is no tomorrow.

For those attending the convention for the first time, we welcome you to Austin with open arms. You are in for an unforgettable week that will significantly impact you and how you conduct your business.

If you are wandering the trade show floor or in an education session and see me, stop me and say hello. It’s the people who make our industry, and I look forward to all our conversations, personal and professional.
