The National Institute for Lobbying and Ethics (NILE) has once again honored the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) for its outstanding advocacy efforts. Marco Giamberardino, NECA’s Senior Vice President of Government and Public Affairs, has been named one of the top lobbyists for 2024. This distinction, awarded to just 100 individuals annually, is entirely merit-based and underscores Giamberardino’s influential presence on Capitol Hill.
The 2024 honorees include a diverse group of professionals across the advocacy spectrum, such as lobbyists, PAC specialists, and grassroots leaders. Candidates are nominated by peers, clients, or Congressional staff for significant achievements, innovative approaches, commitment to community and professional development, and demonstrating the highest ethical standards. The recognition celebrates those who overcome challenges with revolutionary thinking and exceptional leadership.
Giamberardino was also recognized as a top lobbyist of 2024 by The Hill publication for the seventh straight year. His reputation as an association leader who successfully works with members of Congress to influence policy on behalf of NECA contractors, has flourished over this many years in Washington, D.C.
“I am truly honored to receive this recognition once again,” said Giamberardino. “This award is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our entire government affairs team, whose efforts are focused on representing the NECA member contractors who drive innovation, foster growth, and positively impact communities across the nation. I want to especially thank Jessica Cardenas and James Payne for their invaluable contributions—this success would not be possible without their expertise and commitment.”
In 2024, NECA achieved several key legislative and regulatory victories for its members. These accomplishments included:
House passage of the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act, which passed the House with strong bipartisan support.
Final passage of the FAA and WRDA reauthorization bills
Advocated for the Senate permitting reform package by Senators Barrasso and Manchin
Submitted comments for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) rule
Supported enhancements to the National Apprenticeship System, Clean Energy for New Federal Buildings and Major Renovations, and the Apprenticeship and Prevailing Wage Bonus under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
NECA’s efforts continue to solidify its role as a leader in advocacy, driving impactful policies and initiatives that benefit its members and the broader electrical construction industry.
