Today, as smart technology revolutionizes the built environment, our role has never been more crucial. From cutting-edge sports and entertainment venues to sophisticated museum lighting and high-tech installations for midlevel properties, we are shaping the future of infrastructure in notable ways.

The concept of smart buildings is evolving rapidly, bringing energy efficiency, security and user experience all into one. Intelligent lighting, A.I.-driven energy management and IoT-enabled controls are not just trends, they are becoming the new standard. As contractors, our expertise in integrating these systems ensures that businesses and homeowners alike benefit from the best and most innovative solutions.

Today’s stadiums and entertainment complexes are more than just places to watch a game or concert, they are immersive experiences—much like Allegiant Stadium and the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas. Multiple NECA contractors worked on these impressive, high-tech installations, which included dynamic LED displays, interactive lighting and real-time energy-management systems. Every year, our members across the country are accomplishing massive projects like this. We are redefining the fan experience. Museums also require precision lighting to protect and enhance priceless works of art, whether it is adjusting color temperatures to suit different exhibits or implementing automated lighting controls. Advancements in smart lighting are transforming workplaces, homes and public spaces. Our industry’s ability to install and maintain these systems positions us as leaders in the ongoing shift toward intelligent infrastructure.

Midlevel commercial and residential properties are increasingly adopting high-tech solutions as well. Smart HVAC, automated shading and energy-efficient lighting retrofits are now viable for buildings of all sizes. By investing in education, training and partnerships, NECA and its member contractors will continue leading the way in providing cutting-edge solutions that power the future.
