Molex Inc. recently announced its safety training series, “Working Together for a Safer Workplace,” which aims to educate electrical and safety engineers, electricians and maintenance personal and electrical contractors about common electrical safety hazards. It also aims to provide a safety audit of the work site and safety information from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

“As part of our commitment [to safety], we are reaching out to electrical contractors and other end-users and OEMs across the country with our safety training program,” said Scott Hagen, global product manager, commercial programs, Molex Inc.

Molex’s safety training program includes an hour-long training presentation that will provide an overview of safety codes for various applications along with OSHA and NFPA requirements and will focus on potential safety hazards found in many work sites. It concludes with a facility safety audit with a walk-through checklist. The safety audit will point out any safety violations found in the work site and will provide safer solutions.

“We hope that our safety program will protect end-users from potential fines and provide a safer work site with shorter downtime and longer-performing products,” Hagen said. “In addition, companies that are engaged in an active safety program should expect to see improved productivity, less work stoppage, lower accident rates and insurance premium reductions.”
