Greenlee, a Textron Company, Rockford, Illinois, entered into a partnership with Highland Community College (HCC) in Freeport, Ill., to donate hand tools, test and measurement equipment, storage boxes and work benches worth more than $30,000 for the college’s brand new Wind Turbine Technology Center.
“This partnership will provide Greenlee with the opportunity to work with, supply to, and foster the growing alternative energy industry in the United States,” said Ajay Chandrasekhar, a member of the Greenlee Strategy team.
HCC’s new 5,500 square-foot facility will be the first in Illinois and one of only four higher education institutions in the United States to design a specific course for wind energy technicians.
