Garvin Industries held its annual Oktoberfest and open house on October 24, 2007, celebrating 116 years as a manufacturer of electrical, datacom and telecom installation hardware.
More than 500 attendees, including electrical and low-voltage distributors, contractors and electrical inspectors, were present, viewing the latest labor-saving products, such as the split collar grounding bushing, new prefabrication division, and the traditional boxes and covers for which Garvin Industries is known.
“The event provided an excellent opportunity to receive feedback from the people that use our products everyday,” said Brian Brown, director of marketing. The festivities included a display of all Garvin Industries products as well as the fu-ture items that will be released in the upcoming 2008 catalog.
Garvin Industries also was able to raise more than $550 for a local children’s charity, Hephzibah house, an organiza-tion that provides shelter and support for abused and neglected children.
The event also featured giveaways throughout the evening that included 50-, 42- and 32-inch plasma TVs. The com-pany gave away gift cards, sports skybox tickets and sports memorabilia, including an autographed Mickey Mantle photo-graph. EC
