When drilling into a ceiling, it is likely that dust and other particles will fall onto the floor and the installer. To avoid this effect, keep funnels of various sizes in your drill kit to use as debris catchers. Simply choose a funnel that fits the drill bit, securing the small end to the bit with electrical tape. While drilling the ceiling, particles will fall into the wide end of the funnel, leaving little to clean. (illustration by BonoTom)
