Siemens Industry Inc. announced that the 2010 Automation Summit, its national user conference for industrial automation users, will take place June 8-10, 2010 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, N.C. The theme of this year’s summit is “Driving technology and innovation together.”
The Siemens Automation Summit is a comprehensive conference for anyone who works with Siemens integrated solutions for process and factory automation. It is designed to bring together members of the Siemens user community, Siemens employees, and anyone interested in Siemens automation technology. The conference helps attendees develop optimum strategies for successful lifecycle management of their systems.
“As the economic recovery in the manufacturing sector takes hold, our customers are looking for strategies to recapture momentum and grow their businesses,” said Raj Batra, president, Industry Automation Division, Siemens Industry Inc. “Our summit content this year focuses on the issues that are top-of-mind in the industrial space today: energy management, the booming renewables industry, safety, wireless industrial communications, and virtualization, to name just a few. By bringing attendees together, we create the forum for networking, best practice sharing and dialog between supplier and customer that sparks innovation.”
Content for the summit includes safety and cyber security presentations that will illustrate how to reduce risk, tracks on modernization and upgrade strategy that will demonstrate how users can extend the lifecycle of installed systems and sessions on how to improve performance by applying automation technology, as well as seminars on energy and asset management strategies and advanced process control applications.
Furthermore, to provide users with exposure to the broader scope of the Siemens Industry, Inc. portfolio, including its industry solutions and building and water technologies, the 2010 Automation Summit will be held in conjunction with the Siemens Answers for Industry conference scheduled June 8-9, 2010, at the Charlotte Convention Center. As a result, summit attendees will be able to customize their own agenda from more than 70 breakout sessions, including the following:
• Product roadmaps where the latest Siemens technology will be presented by product management on process automation, factory automation and motion control and drives
• Case studies presented by customers and solution partners
• Best practices presented by independent industry experts
• Feedback forums where members of the user community can provide feedback on Siemens products, solutions, and services
In addition to seminars, the conference will feature networking, best practice sharing and the Siemens solutions showcase, a 12,000-square-foot technology exhibit where attendees can experience the latest in Siemens products, systems and solutions in an informal, hands-on environment. Siemens technology experts, partners, distributors and senior executives will also be on hand to discuss deploying Siemens solutions for specific business applications.
