While the politics, policy and popularity of electric vehicles has not been entirely favorable in recent months, there is at least some good news for the industry.

A June 2025 poll conducted by Plug In America, an EV advocacy organization, finds that satisfaction among EV owners is on the rise.

Specifically, the poll found that “EV drivers are very satisfied with their cars.” Almost 92% of EV drivers surveyed said that their next vehicle will (very likely or likely) be an EV. This is an increase from 89% last year.

The survey found other positive trends, showing that the industry is collectively doing an excellent job of convincing EV owners that they made the right choice by diminishing any concerns they may have had. In almost every category of measurement, EV owners reported that their concerns about certain aspects of ownership had diminished after they purchased the car.

The list includes a dozen considerations, such as access to home charging, battery lifetime and public charging availability. In one of the most dramatic shifts, owners reported a 26-point swing in their concerns over battery range, with the percentage of owners reporting this as a concern dropping from 48% before they purchased the car to only 22% after the purchase. This is significant given that battery range and the ability of EV drivers to engage in long-distance travel has been one of the industry’s biggest challenges.

Owners also reported a dramatic shift in their concern over price, with the percentage of new owners reporting concerns dropping from 31% before their purchase to only 8% after they bought the car.

Similarly, the numbers in this line of questioning have dropped year over year, showing that the level of concern over certain aspects of EV ownership is consistently diminishing. For example, the number of survey respondents who were concerned about battery lifetime dropped from almost 44% in 2024 to just under 27% in 2025.

Notably, on the subject of battery range, the survey also shows a remarkable drop in concern. The number of EV owners who reported concerns with battery range dropped from almost 70% in 2024 to 48% in 2025.
