This year is especially meaningful for NECA as we proudly celebrate our 125th anniversary. For more than a century, NECA has stood at the center of an evolving electrical industry by supporting contractors, advancing safety and innovation, and helping shape the infrastructure that powers America. As we honor that legacy, we do so with a clear focus on the future.

We are entering a defining moment for our industry. Cabling and connectivity are no longer background infrastructure; they are central to how we live, work, learn and innovate. From homes and hospitals to data centers, utilities and workplaces, the demand for reliable, secure and intelligent electrical systems has never been greater.

Wireless technologies continue to expand rapidly, offering flexibility and mobility, yet hardwired systems remain the backbone of reliability, security, speed and power delivery. The future is not an either/or proposition—it is about thoughtful integration. Skilled electrical contractors are uniquely positioned to design and install hybrid systems that leverage the strengths of both, ensuring performance, resilience and long-term value.

Smart planning, proper installation and innovative materials allow us to deliver systems that are both economical and built to last. NECA contractors understand that good wire and cable management helps keep us organized, efficient, safe and adaptable.

This is where NECA and its members play a vital role. Our electrical contractors are installers; they are also systems integrators, problem-solvers and trusted advisers. NECA is committed to supporting this evolution through education, training, standards development and advocacy. From cutting-edge technical resources and management tools to workforce development programs and industry-leading meetings, NECA equips contractors to lead in a rapidly changing marketplace.

Our national and chapter meetings bring together the best minds in the industry to share knowledge, explore new technologies and strengthen relationships. Our initiatives focus on innovation, safety, sustainability and workforce growth, ensuring that our industry remains strong, inclusive and prepared for the next 125 years.

As president, my commitment is simple: to honor NECA’s legacy while ensuring it remains the premier resource and voice for electrical contractors, advancing the technologies, practices and people that keep our communities connected and powered.

Together, we are building more than electrical systems. We are building the infrastructure of the future: wired intelligently, managed responsibly and delivered by the most skilled professionals in the industry.
