Every year, NECA holds the industry’s No. 1 convention and trade show. Last month, thousands of attendees flocked to Austin, Texas, the country’s Live Music Capital. The convention was instructional and fun and the weather was great. I enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones as I rubbed shoulders with NECA members from around the country.
Highlights included the Showstopper Showcase; the Education sessions, such as the workshop on Leadership Intelligence Quotient led by our very own Ron Bailey; and our wonderful keynote speakers.
Dozens of exhibitors and speakers reminded us of the bright future our industry faces. I sat in on cutting-edge product demonstrations and met some of electrical construction’s best thinkers, and I can’t wait to see how you all apply the lessons from Austin to your businesses.
Spending time with electrical contractors at the convention really drove home for me what an important industry we’re in. I’m proud to be part of an organization that looks for the best ways to get you all the training, information and support you need to excel. Through our annual convention and trade show, the relationships we build together, NECA education and our association magazines ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR, SAFETY LEADER and LINE CONTRACTOR, I feel confident that we can help our members succeed.
As much as we hope to help you, we also end up learning from your dedication, intelligence and friendship. When times get tough, as they did with Hurricane Ian in September, I never doubted in the ability of our members to use their skills and knowledge to help people and businesses get the lights back on. I’m proud to be part of NECA and in such a dedicated industry community.
It was truly a pleasure to see you all at NECA 2022 Austin. We’ll see you next year in Philadelphia!
