Opportunity Awaits At NECA 2015 San Francisco

Every fall, one my favorite events of the year occurs. Thousands of people associated with electrical construction flock to a major U.S. city to spend three or four days surrounded by their peers, all of them invested in renewing themselves and their businesses. Opportunity abounds.

The NECA Convention and Trade Show has been in Chicago; Washington, D.C.; and San Diego in recent years. This year, my first as NECA president, we’ve chosen San Francisco. Planning for NECA 2015 San Francisco has been a huge undertaking but well worth the time and effort.

When opportunities present themselves, taking advantage is crucial. That’s what NECA 2015 San Francisco (Oct. 3–6) is all about. It’s where we will gather to share what we have learned and keep moving forward. It’s just the place to introduce a younger employee to the bigger world of electrical contracting. They are likely to find a money-saving product on the show floor or remember hearing about a new market opportunity in a workshop. NECA has asked the industry’s leading experts and best minds in the country to facilitate that process, sending you home with extensive industry knowledge that you can implement in your daily lives.

I enjoy seeing the hundreds of exhibitors who are attracted to the NECA Show and excited to put their tool, equipment, product and software innovations on display. There truly is something for everyone.

NECA partners with its exhibitors to bring you the latest technological advances and the most prized new trends and information. At the NECA Show, which remains open to members and nonmembers, you’ll find excellent industry resources for executive management, project managers and purchasing agents; best practices and compliance information; and thousands of new products, service solutions and live demos. In addition, technical workshops are free with admission to the NECA Show.

Networking with your peers is an integral part of the experience, as well. (You never know, you might run into an old friend or make a new one at one of our many social events.) Our lineup of featured speakers is sure to inspire you. And, you can’t forget to leave a little room for some fun. I always enjoy the events NECA arranges throughout the week. NECA 2015 San Francisco is all about creating an environment in which contractors can come together to embrace big ideas and foster creativity.

Putting on NECA 2015 San Francisco is a big task, and we couldn’t do it alone. With the support of NECA’s Premier Partners—Federated Insurance, Graybar, Milwaukee Tool, Philips, Schneider Electric, Southwire, Thomas & Betts and Westex—we are able to present you with opportunities to meet contractors from all over the country. Our show exhibitors, especially the event and amenity sponsors, also do a phenomenal job.

You might get the idea that I think attending NECA 2015 San Francisco is important. I do. You won’t regret making the trip. It’s a great investment. (I should know; I’ve been attending NECA conventions for 30 years.) The opportunity to embrace a new idea can strike at any time. It might happen during a presentation on the show floor, a lecture in one of our classroom-style workshops, or in a conversation with a colleague over lunch or on your travels to the convention. It’s what you make of it that counts.

I hope to see you at NECA 2015 San Francisco!
