As the nation continues to reopen following the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, and we plan for a return to a modified “normal,” I would like to applaud NECA members and staff for the incredible resiliency and resolve you have shown through this trying time. This has truly been a test for all of us, and I am very proud of how we reacted. I hope we have all taken advantage of the additional educational resources NECA has offered its members and made use of the advocacy tools that can be put to work online.
Our commitment to safety has always been superb, and seeing how we all stepped up our efforts in the past few months has been heartening. If you don’t believe me, just search the hashtag #NECAKnowsSafety, and you’ll soon be offering your congratulations, too.
One of the groups that will be returning to an office is our own NECA National staff. However, they won’t be returning to Bethesda, Md., where NECA has been headquartered for decades. Instead, staff will be entering a brand-new office space next month, in Washington, D.C. I’m excited for our team to be based in this exciting city, all working in the same office. This will help staff collaborate even better as they support the many initiatives that make being part of NECA so worthwhile. The new location will also provide a fantastic opportunity for our members to visit and collaborate with our NECA staff.
I’m sure all members can agree that we can’t wait to see the new space and staff in action—and not just because it means having someplace new to visit! I hope you all safely enjoy your summer, and I look forward to seeing you soon.
