Making Connections

As I travel across the United States, I enjoy interacting with electrical contractors of all types. One of the many commonalities I hear is the belief that making connections is a vital part of any winning formula. Getting involved with business partners, forming meaningful relationships and learning from the best pays huge dividends in our $160 billion industry. The National Electrical Contractors Association’s annual Convention and Trade Show, for example, is an amazing place to see it all come together.

Methods of effective engagement vary. NECA facilitates collaborative efforts through many initiatives. NECA’s Premier Partner program connects members to leading firms throughout the electrical construction industry. Greenlee, which delivers tools to the electrical industries, and United Rentals, an equipment provider, joined the fold in 2018 with three-year commitments.

What are some benefits of having Premier Partners? The program represents the most comprehensive business-to-business marketing and sales opportunity NECA has presented, and ECs are the prime beneficiaries. Premier Partners showcase their brands, products and services through hundreds of NECA gatherings, publications and digital platforms year-round, including NECA 2018 Philadelphia. They’re major players in electrical construction who continue to support contractors and help improve the way you do your job. We all understand partners are essential for business success.

Other Premier Partners include Federated Insurance, Graybar, Milwaukee Tool, Schneider Electric, Southwire, Thomas & Betts, Westex by Milliken and 3M. The impact is clear. Working with these top-tier companies at the national, chapter and member level deepens our relationships and improves the quality and efficiency of the work you produce every day. I have no doubt you and your peers will continue to find ways to promote and advance opportunities that are in the collective interest of our industry, and I encourage you to develop direct connections with our Premier Partners as they work hard to help make you a leader among future generations of electrical contractors.
