Answering Adversity With Optimism

We have just a few more weeks before NECA 2020 LIVE kicks off—NECA’s entirely revamped, first-ever, all-virtual convention and trade show taking place Oct. 6–8. I hope you have already registered for this incredible event, which will feature the best education lineup we have ever seen at a NECA Convention, as well as inspiring talks from trailblazers in the world of sports and the military. It is certainly not to be missed!

Earlier this year, as we all adjusted to life in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I wondered how we could possibly plan to put on a convention and trade show. But the NECA team is made up of some of the most innovative, creative and determined people I know, and they have pulled out all the stops to create the next best thing to being together in Chicago. I was amazed by the plans for an online trade show and can’t wait to see it in action. And to be honest, I’m looking forward to being a part of it all from the comfort and safety of home.

Putting together and pulling off NECA 2020 LIVE took a real team effort—from our meeting planners to the education experts and all the NECA departments and members who have delivered valuable content to make this the unmissable event that it is. I am very grateful to be part of an organization that answers adversity with optimism. That kind of mindset is truly an example of how our industry has responded to a lot of complications this year, on top of the personal ones we have all faced. It has always required a team effort to keep our workers safe and everyone informed. Now we have seen that it takes a team to implement brand-new safety protocols while keeping a project going.

Thank you to our members and staff for making this an unforgettable year, despite all the challenges. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone (virtually) at NECA 2020 LIVE.
