Tools and Equipment Go High Tech For the Holidays

As the telecom and power industries become more sophisticated, so do the demands of electrical contractors. Fortunately, the tools and equipment contractors rely on are in step with these changes and just in time for the holidays.

Providers and retailers offer a number of promotions and new products that reflect the latest high tech trends. Electrical product distributor Graybar, for example, is running a promotion that is sure to please many electrical contractors. Any customer who buys 250 of any IDEAL compression connectors (F, BNC or RCA) before December 31 will receive a free OmniSEALtm Pro XL compression tool.

The timing is perfect, as Graybar reports the IDEAL compression connectors are manufactured to meet the demands of the satellite and cable TV industry, two areas that are sure to heat up as users hook up their new big screen TVs this holiday season. The OmniSEALtm Pro XL compression tool connects BNC, f-type, RG11, RCA, and mini coax compression connectors on coaxial cable.

Graybar carries several other lines of products that are seasonally appropriate, like the simple-to-use Fluke 2AC voltage tester and the Fluke 62 infrared thermometer, which can check for hot spots in breaker panels, help diagnose HVAC problems, and measure temperature in a wide range of other applications. The Fluke 411D can quickly and accurately measure distance up to 100 feet at the touch of a button.

Graybar is not the only supplier carrying the latest line of techno tools and equipment. Lowe's home improvement stores carry a variety of cutting edge items. The Kobalt Double-Drive 29-piece set includes multiple bits for all applications, including hex, square and star bits, as well as six nut drivers. The Kobalt 18-volt lithium-Ion cordless combo kit includes drill/driver, reciprocating saw, circular saw, LED work light, 6-inch bi-metal reciprocating saw blade, a 6 1/2-inch circular saw blade, double-ended driver bit, belt hook, bit holder and a contractor tool bag.

These are just a few of the items suppliers are carrying this holiday season. They will make great gifts for the electrical contractors who make sure consumers can power up their new toys without interruption. Check with your distributor for any holiday specials on the tools and equipment you need.
