GE Supply Logistics, LLC, an operating unit of GE Supply, the electrical products distribution business of the General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), has opened its new headquarters, sales and distribution center in Irving, Texas.
The GE Supply unit provides supply chain management solutions and inventory logistics management programs for "C" class commodity parts to the aerospace industry, and commercial and industrial OEM users. It employs nearly 400.
According to GE Supply Logistics President and General Manager Jason Jones, the Irving headquarters consolidates operations from Boca Raton, Florida, and Carrollton and Fort Worth, Texas. The 82,000 square foot facility is located in Freeport Industrial Park, adjacent to Dallas/Ft.Worth International Airport, off Interstate 635.
The new headquarters consolidates GE Supply Logistics' Business Leadership Team, Aerospace Distribution "Center of Excellence" (COE), and an Industrial & Commercial Branch. The Irving warehouse features 30-foot high racking with advanced product put away and picking processes, helping to maintain inventory accuracy and expediting customer shipments. Its quality department has also been redesigned and expanded, enhancing the efficiency and precision of incoming material inspections and expediting customer shipment turnaround.
"With our Aerospace COE in Irving and Industrial COE in Chicago complementing 30-plus full service branches across North America, we offer customers unmatched value and service," Jones says. "The additional space in our new Irving facility will also allow us to support significant growth in the aerospace industry." EC
