Minneapolis, Nov. 11, 200'–Transition Networks, the conversion technology experts, announced an enhanced distribution relationship with Graybar, the leading distributor of telecommunications, networking, and electrical products and services.

As part of their distribution relationship, Graybar will expand its product portfolio and inventory of Transition Networks’ line of media conversion products. To meet customer demand and ensure speedy product delivery, Graybar will house Transition’s products at three of its zone warehouses in Georgia, California, and Ohio, providing just-in-time delivery and reduced costs for its customers––primarily certified communications and data contractors. Inventories will be jointly monitored and rotated to ensure products in demand are available at all times for existing and prospective customers.

“With the addition of new technologies from Transition Networks, Graybar is helping our customers power and network industrial facilities, offices and housing with speed, intelligence and efficiency,” said Al Eddings, vice president, Comm/Data Products, Graybar. “And Graybar’s leading-edge information technology and logistics capabilities are raising the bar on performance and value for our customers, which enables us to deliver Transition Networks gear quickly, easily and efficiently.”

St. Louis-based Graybar specializes in project and supply chain management services and is the leading distributor of more than 1.4 million products from more than 4,100 manufacturers. Through its zone warehouses and logistics capabilities, Graybar is stocking Transition Networks technologies in strategic locations and delivering them to job sites and customer locations within 24 to 48 hours. Additionally, Graybar is in the midst of a $90 million three-year project to upgrade its information technology systems, which will further streamline the supply chain connecting Graybar with its customers.

“Graybar is a key channel partner for Transition Networks,” said Dave Stenger, Director of U.S. Sales for Transition Networks. “Leveraging Graybar’s strong presence in the market, Transition will gain increased exposure to a large customer base and we will be able to provide quicker delivery of our products through their regional inventory.”

Graybar will add Transition’s new Managed Aggregation Converter (MAC) to its product portfolio. This converter offers a cost-effective solution for 10/100 Mbps environments, which require in-band remote end management of relatively low port density applications.

The system includes a main management unit and several reporting units that when deployed in an Ethernet network can provide status, configuration, and trouble shooting information to the network managers easily, remotely, and in-band. The MAC will nicely complement Transition’s complete line for Copper to Fiber media converters supporting Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, ATM, T1/E1, DS3, Token Ring, and more. EC
