AmerenUE, a utility operating company of Ameren Corp., is investing $1 billion over the next three years to improve reliability, upgrade delivery systems and enhance the environmental performance of its power plants in Missouri. Project “Power On” includes:
$300 million over three years for undergrounding and reliability improvement
$135 million over three years for tree trimming
$500 million over three years to address the growing energy needs of the region by installing environmental controls on existing plants to better meet environmental standards
$84 million over three years for circuit and device inspection and repair
PAR Electrical Contractors, a division of Quanta Services, will manage the $300 million undergrounding and reliability improvement portion of this project. Based in Kansas City, Mo., PAR Electric has permanent offices across the nation as well as temporary offices near its work sites.
This project will be the first of its kind for Border States, which provides products and services to the construction, industrial, utility and data communications markets. Border States will operate a 30,000-square-foot warehouse with eight acres of outside storage located in Wentzville, Mo., and will employ approximately 20 people at the facility.
