The Home Lighting Control Alliance(HLCA), a new organization dedicated to raising awareness of lighting control systems among consumers, homebuilders and the professional trades, recently formed. Nearly two dozen companies, organizations and media outlets have united to spearhead this new marketing initiative to raise awareness of the value and benefits of lighting control systems for the home.

Inspired by the success of such past marketing initiatives undertaken by Wiring America’s Homes, which promotes structured wiring, and by the Distributed Audio Alliance, which promotes multiroom audio, the Home Lighting Control Alliance will fund an aggressive awareness and educational campaign to increase overall growth of the lighting control industry.

Main areas of focus will include residential applications for new construction, renovation and quality retrofit installations. Core product areas will consist of dimming systems (hard-wired and wireless), control keypads and interfaces as well as lighting control system integration for a room and a whole house.

“There is no substitute for a great lighting control system, so we’re thrilled to work with this group to take this message to a larger audience,” said Angie Larson, director of marketing at one of the HLCA’s founding partners, LiteTouch.
