Tester > Fluke Network’s AirCheck is a dedicated, handheld 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless network tester with instant-on technology. It simplifies wireless troubleshooting by performing a wireless discovery to fully assess your current wireless security settings and network availability. Users can quickly identify and locate wireless access points whether authorized or rogue and see wireless network utilization by channel and quickly determine if it is 802.11 traffic or non-802.11 interference. It performs robust and in-depth WLAN connection tests, from probing to DHCP request to ping. Users can fully document troubleshooting sessions to enable fast trouble ticket resolution or problem escalation.
Tester > Extech’s two-in-one phase-sequence and motor-rotation tester indicates rotation direction of the motor without contact and ensures that the motor does not get damaged from incorrect wiring. It has a 40 to 600V AC rated test range for testing phase orientation of three-phase power sources over the 2 to 400 Hz frequency range. LEDs indicate phase orientation (clockwise or counter-clockwise) and whether each of the three phases is live. It comes with a cable and three large color-coded alligator clips, pouch case and a 9V battery.
Insulation Meter > Ideal Industries’ 61-797 digital insulation meter tests for signs of deterioration in electrical systems, generators, switchgear and motor windings. Users can determine the integrity of insulation in new and existing wiring by identifying capacitive, absorption and leakage current at multiple test voltages (50V, 100V, 250V, 500V and 1,000V) and resistance up to 20 giga ohms. It disables itself if connected to a live circuit exceeding 30V. A live voltage hazard indictor warns the user of energized circuits. It automatically discharges capacitive voltage from the equipment under test that may be a shock hazard after completion.
Light Meter > Casella USA’s digital light meter measures light intensity from sources across all the visible range in Lux units (200,000 max) or foot-candles (20,000 max). It is useful for determining whether workplace light levels are in compliance with safety codes. It can also be used by photographers and videographers as an professional-grade exposure meter. It has an illuminated 3.5-digit LCD with over-range indicator means the new meter can be operated successfully by a novice straight out of the box. It has a silicon photo diode and built-in cosine angular correction. Spectral response is close to CIE luminous spectral efficiency.
Fork Meter > Milwaukee Tool’s M12 cordless fork meter is a heavy-duty true-RMS electrical tester for professional residential, commercial and industrial applications. Its lithium-ion battery-powered and it is four tools in one, providing current measurement, voltage measurement, voltage detection and task lighting. In has a wide 0.63-in. fork opening, high 200A current range and a white-on-black display.
Hook Meter > Klein Tools’ 200A hook meter automatically selects current or voltage measurement in tight areas. It has a backlit display and worklight and an analog bar graph. A case, test leads and battery are included.
Tester > Megger’s PAT320 portable appliance tester tests record numbers of appliances per hour, carrying out all requirements automatically with one button press. It can also be operated manually and has user-selectable pass/fail limits. In addition to automatic testing, the ability to run each test individually is usefull for carrying out fault diagnostics.
Power Quality/Energy Monitoring System > Dranetz’s 61000 Encore Series power quality/energy monitoring system has an IEC 61850 communications option that allows interoperability between Dranetz and third-party devices in utility substation environments operating under the IEC 61850 automation, communications and integration protocol. The EssOpc Module is an OPC Gateway for Dranetz Encore Series Software (ESS). It provides real-time metered data, event counters and system status to the user’s compatible software systems. The EssOpc gateway communicates with ESS on a periodic basis and makes the data and status of each instrument in the monitoring system accessible to third-party systems through OPC.
Ratiometer > AEMC’s DTR Model 8510 is a portable digital transformer ratiometer for on-site testing of power, potential and current transformers. When connected to a non-energized transformer, it measures primary to secondary turns ratio and displays polarity and excitation current. It is fully automatic and self-calibrates. It checks for open windings/connections/circuit breakers, short circuits (excess excitation current), incorrect test lead placement, and reverse polarity.
Sound Meter > Hioki’s FT3432 sound level meter measures sound from electrical equipment and machinery. Measurements include sound level, equivalent continuous sound level, sound exposure level, maximum sound level, and Cweighting peak sound level. It is compact and lightweight for easy one-handed operation. It measures from 30 dB to 130 dB, does not need range switching and has analog output.
Tester > Amprobe’s BAT-500 battery impedance tester performs battery testing to calculate its true life without taking the batteries offline and works with most batteries, compact storage batteries, alkaline and lead-acid up to 500 Ah. It has a comparator function with pass/fail indication speeds testing of batteries up to 500 Ah. Typical applications include but are not limited to power backup and UPS systems.
Multimeter > Greenlee’s DM-300 multimeter measures voltage, resistance and continuity. It has noncontact voltage detection for identifying live lines without contacting conductors. It has true RMS for accurate measurement when harmonics are present.
Meter > Fluke 190 Series II scopemeter is a four-channel scope built for CAT IV environments. It can be used for three-phase applications, such as industrial motors and variable speed drives. It can test input, output and control signals simultaneously. It has a seven-hour battery and two USB ports for PC connectivity and memory devices.
