One of the items generating the most buzz at the 2006 NECA Show is the Leica DISTO A5 -- a hand laser meter that can measure distances inside and outside. The DISTO A5 is remarkable because it is capable of indirect height and width measurement, allowing the user to hold the meter away from the structure and measure inaccessible locations.  Distances up to 100 meters can be measured without a target plate, and an integrated telescopic viewfinder helps site far away targets.

A flip-out end piece with automatic detection offers reliable measurements from edges of areas or corners and features a built-in sensor that automatically determines the correct zero point. The DISTO A5 is robust enough for outdoor use -- spray water and dust proof, which is essential for construction sites.
