ELECTRI International has completed its investigation of current CW/CE practices now being used by well-established electrical contractors to determine if a CW/CE program improves EC competiveness. The research was conducted by Todd L. Sirotiak, CCP, LEED AP, MBA, PE, PhD., from Diversified Construction Services. The ECs involved in this study provide strong evidence that CW/CEs can be successfully used on a majority of projects. They recommend that CW/CE opportunities in the electrical labor field appear exceptional if ECs can find a way to capitalize upon them.

CSI and CSC recently released the 2014 updates to MasterFormat, a product used to organize construction documents for commercial, industrial and institutional building projects in the United States and Canada. MasterFormat is a master list of numbers and titles classified by work results for construction practices, used to organize project manuals, detail cost information and relate drawing notations to specifications.
