ROSSLYN, Va., January 29, 2015—The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) with UL (Underwriters Laboratories) announce changes to the UL Standard 943 Standard for Safety for Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs) (Tri-national harmonized UL 943/CSA C22.2 No. 144.1/ANCE NMX-J-520) that will take effect on June 29, 2015. To maintain certification, all manufacturers must meet these revisions with GFCIs produced after June 28, 2015.

PITTSBURGH — Power management company Eaton announced it will help U.S. Army modernize the electrical infrastructure of the Temperature Test Facility at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). Under the contract, Eaton will provide turnkey engineering services and power distribution equipment to improve power reliability and system safety at the specially designed laboratory in White Sands, New Mexico.

January 8, 2015 -- The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) today announced the launch of its Certified Electrical Safety Worker (CESW) certification program, which is based on the 2015 edition of NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace®. The program works to ensure that electricians have the knowledge, training and experience to perform their jobs at the highest, safest level possible.“NFPA’s CESW certification program is an important credential for documenting electricians’ advanced knowledge of electrical safety,” said Jim Pauley, NFPA president.
